The name of Plantagenet city attributed to the old city since 2003, aims to assert its identity. Surrounded by a Roman wall dating from the late third century, the old town form of 9 ha, a homogeneous whole, registering since 1974 as part of a conservation area. Labeled "City of Art and History", Le Mans has a unique architectural heritage that is worth trying. The city is also a candidate for World Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO classification).
