General description

Bucolic garden along the Sarthe, magnificent views of the Roman wall and the Plantagenet City.
The Garden of Tanneries is located in the center of Le Mans, Sarthe edge of the left bank, at the foot of the Plantagenet City and its Roman wall. The garden was not always a green area. Formerly many tanneries were present in the area and we are preparing hides. The remains of the medieval walls are still visible. There is also the last pillar of an old masterpiece of the city: the bridge X. The bridge that once served to departmental trains, crossing the Sarthe to reach the station halls. It was dynamited in 1944. A tavern is installed in the summer.
