Located on Republic Square, the Visitation Chapel is a very rare and beautiful Regency buildings in the west of France. Listed in the Inventory of Historical Monuments, the chapel was built between 1723 and 1737. The sanctuary, crosshair is dominated by a dome. The main facade is abundantly decorated with Corinthian portico with columns flanking a gate rockery. It enjoys an indoor and outdoor full restoration in 1863/1864. Period during which the large porch is built on the Rue Gambetta and the small side staircase Republic Square. Visitation has remarkable furniture consists among other of an altarpiece of the Sacred Heart 1751, various tables and a beautiful sculpture of St. Catherine of Alexandria. Since this building has been no restoration. Faced with the progressive deterioration in external also touching the interior, the complete restoration of the building was conducted by the City of Le Mans. Started in 1997, the restoration works carried out in 2 phases, exterior and interior, was completed in the summer of 2015.
