Saint-Julian cathedral has, with Notre-Dame de Chartres, the finest collection of medieval stained glass in the world. The Ascension window, which is located in the lower left side of the nave is the oldest stained glass (end XIth Century) still in place in a religious building . Abstract panels were created by Max Ingrand in 1956.
